The die casting mould consists of two main parts: the fixed mould and the moving mould. The mould is fixed to the mould mounting plate of the die-casting machine and is connected to the press chamber of the die-casting machine, to which the pouring system is connected. The moving mould is mounted on the die-casting machine's moving mould mounting plate and is closed or opened with the fixed mould as the moving mould mounting plate moves. Let the die-cutting house take you to see the structure and classification of die-casting moulds illustrated below.

First, the structure of die-casting moulds

According to the different roles played by the parts on the mould, the structure of the die-casting mould can be divided into the following parts.

① Forming part. The forming part is the part of the mould that determines the geometric shape and dimensional accuracy of the die casting. The outer surface of the die casting is called the cavity, while the inner surface of the die casting part is called the core.

② sprue system. The sprue system is to communicate with the mould cavity and the die-casting machine pressure chamber part, that is, the metal liquid into the cavity channel.Die casting mould

③ Overflow system. Overflow system is the general term for the overflow system and the exhaust system, which is opened according to the filling of the metal liquid in the mould. The overflow system is usually located on the moulded part.

④ Push-out mechanism. The push-out mechanism is the mechanism that pushes the die casting out of the mould.

⑤ Side core extraction mechanism. Side core extraction mechanism is the mechanism to extract the moulded parts that do not move in the same direction as the opening and closing of the mould, and to complete the core extraction action before the die casting is pushed out.

⑥ Guiding parts. The guiding parts are the parts that guide the fixed and moving moulds to move reliably in a certain direction when opening and closing the mould.

⑦ Support parts. Support part is the mould parts according to a certain law and position combination and fixed, installed to the die-casting machine parts.

⑧ Other. In addition to the aforementioned parts, there are other fasteners, positioning parts, such as screws, pins, limit nails, etc.

Second, the classification of die-casting moulds

According to the type of die-casting machine used, die-casting mould structure form also slightly different, generally can be divided into the following forms.

① The typical structure of die-casting moulds for hot chamber casting machines.

② Typical structure of die-casting moulds for vertical cold chamber die-casting machines.

③ Typical structure of a die casting mould for a horizontal cold chamber die casting machine

a. Basic structure of an eccentric sprue die casting mould for horizontal cold chamber die casting machines

b. Basic structure of a centre gate die casting mould for a horizontal cold chamber die casting machine

c. Basic structure of a die casting mould for an all-vertical die casting machine
